Republican South Carolin Sen Tim Scott is reportedly planning to run for president in 2024, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal. 

Jennifer DeCasper, a Scott senior adviser, told the outlet he was “excited to share his vision of hope and opportunity and hear the American people’s response.” 



Scott is reportedly testing a message with Republican voters in key early states focused on optimism and unity, as some say that it’s time for the party to move on from former President Donald Trump, who announced his bid for president shortly after the midterm elections.
